Kara doesn’t know if was the clean air, overcast skies, city views, or good wine, but whatever it was, moving from Los Angeles to Seattle proved to be just what she needed to dive back into her first love--acting. A theater major from Colorado, Kara moved to LA after college. Instead of pursuing her passion however, she found herself working in advertising and avoiding acting completely. Almost 10 years later, she and her husband unexpectedly moved to Seattle and she is grateful everyday that it was to this vibrant, arts-centric city that they happened to relocate. Within months she realized her day job wasn’t doing it for her and that she had to get back to the stage--and screen and radio and...Internet podcast?! Since jumping back into acting, Kara has performed in several Seattle stage productions, a variety of commercials, films, corporate videos and of course, Eye of the Storm, her first online soap opera. Kara’s also a member of EffectiveArts, an interactive drama organization committed to helping those who work in emotionally intense fields be more present, connected and successful in the work they do. Kara is currently making up for lost time and acting as much as she can. She loves exploring the dimension of stage, the subtlety of film, the nuance of voiceover and the thrill that comes from creating complex, multifaceted characters that refuse to be ignored.
